So, Jurassic Park is fake. It turns out you can't really do much with DNA that's more than 50,000 years old. You can, on the other hand, use a shitload of computers and "maximum likellihood phylogenetic reconstruction" to deduce dinosuar genes, synthesize them, and then build the proteins they code for. Which is what Belinda Chang and friends did, published in Molecular Biology and Evolution. Reported by the BBC.
